Q: HOW DO I GET STARTED?
A: Starting your service is fast and easy using the LawnGuru "easy service ordering."
To begin your service right away, visit the Easy Service Ordering feature on this Web site. Just complete the information requested. I'll confirm and schedule your program and be out right away.
Q: DO I NEED TO SIGN A CONTRACT?
A: NO CONTRACT IS NECESSARY.
I can schedule your lawn care program over the phone, by mail or the through this Web site. After you place your order, I'll mail you a confirmation letter detailing your program.
Q: DO YOU GUARANTEE YOUR WORK?
A: LAWNGURU GUARANTEES YOUR SATISFACTION.
If you are not satisfied with the results of my work, just call or email me to discuss your problem, and I will continue to work on the situation to your satisfaction. If there is no solution to the problem I will discuss alternatives to grass.
Q: WHAT IF I THINK MY LAWN IS HAVING PROBLEMS?
A: CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY
I will revisit your property for no charge and make sure it does not turn into a big problem.
Q: IS THERE JUST ONE RIGHT TIME TO START YOUR PROCESS?
A: NO, BUT SPRING IS IDEAL.
You can start your service anytime during the season. But to get the best results from my program, it's preferable to start at the beginning of the season. The spring application is important for the Pre-emergent Crab Grass Control to work properly.
Q: CAN I CANCEL MY LAWNGURU SERVICE AT ANY TIME?
A: NATURALLY!
You are not bound by any contract. If you need to cancel your service, just call or e-mail me, and I will cancel your service or suspend it until further notice.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY CONCERNS
Q: DOES LAWNGURU USE PESTICIDES?
A: MINIMALLY, AND ONLY WHEN NECESSARY.
LawnGuru's organic-based lawn process uses pesticides only when absolutely necessary. Pre-emergent crabgrass control is used to prevent crabgrass, weed control is used only on the weeds that are present, and insecticides are used only when an intolerable population exists and is potentially devastating to your lawn. If a zero pesticide program is your preference, than the LawnGuru 100% organic is the solution.
Q: DOES LAWNGURU POST THOSE YELLOW SIGNS AFTER EACH APPLICATION?
A: YES.
The law requires all lawn care companies to post those yellow signs if even the tiniest amount of pesticide is applied. Only my 100% organic does not require the yellow sign.
Q: ARE LAWNGURU'S PRODUCTS SAFE FOR MY CHILDREN AND PETS?
A: OUR FERTILIZERS ARE HARMLESS, AND OUR PESTICIDES, IF USED, ARE THE SAFEST IN THE INDUSTRY.
My organic-based fertilizer is perfectly safe for you, your kids, and your pets. When pesticides are necessary, we make every attempt to spot-treat the problem areas only. All pesticides contain some small amount of material that could be considered a hazard. The pesticide products we purchase from our suppliers have generally the same active ingredients that are found in products sold at retail stores, and the EPA deems them safe for public exposure.
Q: WILL LAWNGURU'S LAWN TREATMENTS AFFECT GROUNDWATER?
A: NO!
The products I use are not very water-soluble, and most readily bind to organic matter in the soil. The thatch layer and underlying soil contain microbial species that biologically degrade these molecules before than can reach any ground water.
ABOUT THE APPLICATIONS
Q: WHAT DOES THE LAWNGURU PROGRAM INCLUDE?
A: A COMBINATION OF EXPERT KNOWLEDGE, THE RIGHT MATERIALS, AND THE RIGHT TIMING.
My program is carefully scheduled so applications are done during times when insect, disease and weed pressure is of highest concern. Typically, the program includes:
- Organic-Based Fertilizer
- Pre-emergent Crab Grass Control (spring)
- Grub Prevention (late spring) (optional — extra cost HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
- Surface Insect Control and Weed Control (Spot treatments when needed)
- Disease Control (Spot treatments when needed) (optional — extra cost)
Q: CAN I GET AN ALL-ORGANIC PROGRAM?
A: YES.
LawnGuru's 100% organic program is one of the most successful organic programs available. A combination of LawnGuru's unique Shrink-a-Weed fertilizer and granular organic fertilizer will deliver a beautiful lawn without the use of pesticides. However, it is recommended that your lawn become conditioned before you use this program. Balancing your soil, cleaning up heavy weed populations and thickening the grass density are critical for optimum results from my all-organic program.
Q: WHAT KIND OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM LAWNGURU'S ORGANIC-BASED PROGRAM, AS COMPARED TO A TYPICAL CHEMICAL LAWN CARE PROGRAM?
A: YOU'LL GET EVEN BETTER RESULTS.
At the start and especially in the long run, LawnGuru's organic-based program will out-perform a chemical program. Chemical lawn care programs do nothing for the soil. They can even have a negative affect on soil fertility. My organic-based lawn fertilization program will continually build up the soil health. As the overall fertility of the soil increases, so will the health of the plants that live in it. Lawns that have switched to my organic plan show a dramatic decrease in the incidence of lawn disease, weed and insect problems. Plus, they develop a deep green color that is unachievable with only chemical products.
Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET RESULTS?
A: AT LEAST ONE SEASON.
Lawn care is a process, not an event, so you'll want to stick with the program for at least one season. You will see results the first year. If you follow my recommendations, you will achieve optimum results. Generally, the longer you are on the program, the better your lawn will look and the healthier it will be.
Q: HOW MANY APPLICATIONS DOES THE LAWNGURU PROGRAM INCLUDE?
A: SIX APPLICATIONS APPROXIMATELY FOUR TO SIX WEEKS APART.
Q: WHEN WOULD MY LAWNGURU SERVICE BEGIN?
A: IN THE SPRING.
I generally make the first applications in March or April, depending on the weather. However, you can start at anytime.
Q: IS LAWNGURU'S APPLICATION GRANULAR OR LIQUID?
A: MOSTLY GRANULAR.
Occasionally a liquid application is made for spot treatments or specialty applications. My granular products are superior to any liquid fertilizers because the slow-release organic material continuously builds health in the soil. However my 100% organic program uses a liquid fertilizer that actually shrinks weeds out of existence.
Q: WILL MY LAWN BE GREEN?
A: ABSOLUTELY!
You sacrifice nothing, especially color, by switching to my organic-based program. In fact, as time goes on, your lawn will develop a deeper, darker green luster.
Q: DOES LAWNGURU TREAT FOR WEEDS AND INSECTS?
A: YES, WHEN AND WHERE NEEDED.
An overall observation of your lawn is made at each visit (scouting). If any weeds or insects are observed, an application of pesticide will be made at the exact location of the problem.
Q: DO I NEED TO HAVE ALL SIX APPLICATIONS?
A: YES, FOR BEST RESULTS.
Each application contains a balanced application of organic-based fertilizer that is one-sixth of your lawn's needs for the entire season. Plus, applications are spaced apart and timed to give the most control over weeds and insects. Applications timed too far apart will result in inferior appearance, plus the possibility of insect or disease devastation of your lawn.
Q: I DON'T WANT MY GRASS TO GROW TOO FAST. ARE SIX APPLICATIONS TOO MUCH?
A: NOT WITH THE LAWNGURU SYSTEM.
Since I use organic-based fertilizer, you will not experience the fast growth you get from traditional chemical fertilizer. Instead, your lawn will have gradual green-up that sustains between applications, instead of surge growth that comes with chemical lawn care programs.
Q: DO I NEED TO WATER AFTER ANY APPLICATIONS?
A: NO.
Some of my products are water soluble and activated with water but they can wait until it rains. Some of my products are activated by soil microorganisms and do not require water.

I will leave an invoice with a payment stub and a return envelope at each application. You can mail your payment in after each application or you can prepay for the entire season at one time.
Q: WHAT ARE LAWNGURU'S PAYMENT TERMS?
A: NET 30 DAYS.
Any account that goes over 90 days will result in a suspension of service until paid.
Q: DO YOU SEND STATEMENTS?
A: YES, AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH MONTH.
Q: CAN I PREPAY MY PROGRAM?
A: YES, AND IT'S TO YOUR ADVANTAGE.
If you prepay your program before April 15, you will receive a 6% prepayment discount. If you prepay before February 15, you will receive a 10% prepayment discount.
Q: WHAT ABOUT DISCOUNTS?
A: WE OFFER THEM PERIODICALLY.
2008 new customers will receive a free lime application. We also offer a prepayment discount that would not be connected to any other offer.
